ICU founder and the ICU fleet receives Presidential Volunteer Service Award
SylviaSeptember 2008

Sylvia Slifko, Founder and Executive Director of Image Clear Ultrasound, was one of more than 150 pregnancy center volunteers from across the country to receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award on Friday, September 19, 2008 at a ceremony hosted by Assistant Secretary for Health, Admiral Joxel Garcia, MD, M.B.A., and the White House USA Freedom Corps.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is given to Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspired others to engage in volunteer service. Sylvia was honored for her volunteer service during her tenure as Executive Director of Pregnancy Solutions & Services, in Akron, OH. Sylvia currently services on the Board of Directors for Pregnancy Solutions & Services.

Pregnancy Solutions & Services, a member of the ICU fleet, was recognized as one of the 56 pregnancy centers that received the award. “PSS has had tremendous success with its ICU mobile unit,” states Executive Director Wayne. H. Morgret. “With our mobile ultrasound, we seek out girls in crisis pregnancies by driving the mobile unit to 7 different locations.” The mission to seek out women is working well. In 2007, PSS served 1,407 clients, performing 804 ultrasounds on its ICU mobile unit, with 170 babies saved, and 184 salvations. God continues to bless the ministry in 2008 with more than 448 ultrasounds performed in the first half of 2008!

Congratulations to Sylvia, PSS, and all the dedicated volunteers and centers across the country!

ICU debuts new Mission Statement and branding
Fall 2008

Image Clear Ultrasound (ICU) has been actively building itself into a stronger national ministry to better serve the needs of clients interested in going mobile. Having recently become incorporated, ICU now has a mission statement and branding.

“We felt it was important to have everyone understand what has made mobile ministry—and ICU—so different. It’s such a new concept to so many people, yet when they hear who we are and what we want to accomplish, it really makes sense to them and speaks to them. I feel so blessed that God has allowed us to take His vision and watch it grow,” said Sylvia Slifko, Founder and Executive Director of ICU.

The new mission statement reflects the driving vision of creating a national fleet of vehicles equipped with ultrasound technology. “To think we began with just one mobile unit in 2004 and, in just over four years, we have people from all over the United States and internationally contacting us to learn more about mobile ministry. This speaks to the power of God,” said Sylvia.

The mission of Image Clear Ultrasound is to establish and support a national fleet of vehicles equipped with ultrasound technology so that every woman considering abortion may have a free opportunity to see her unborn child in a convenient and comfortable location in order to make an informed, life-affirming decision.
